چکیده

We present a list of Chemicals Concern (CoCs) in plastic toys. started from available studies reporting chemical composition toys to group materials, as well gather mass fractions and function chemicals these materials. Chemical emissions subsequent human exposures were then estimated using series models coupled near-field far-field exposure assessment framework. Comparing doses with reference shows high Hazard Quotients up 387 cancer risk calculated slope factors 0.0005. Plasticizers soft materials show the highest risk, 31 out 126 identified CoCs, sum >1 or child >10?6. Our results indicate that relevant amount used toy may pose non-negligible health children, calling for more refined investigations human- eco-friendly alternatives. The CoCs compared other existing regulatory prioritization lists. While some our appear lists, we also additional priority are not yet covered elsewhere thus require further attention. finally derive all considered maximum Acceptable Content (ACC) grouped powerful green chemistry tool check whether alternatives could create substantial risks.

Human body burdens of chemicals used in plastic manufacture.

In the last decades, the availability of sophisticated analytical chemistry techniques has facilitated measuring trace levels of multiple environmental chemicals in human biological matrices (i.e. biomonitoring) with a high degree of accuracy and precision. As biomonitoring data have become readily available, interest in their interpretation has increased. We present an overview on the use of b...

percentage of toxic trace elements pb, cr and cd in certain plastic toys, isfahan city

introduction: recent investigations have detected the presence of significant levels of heavy metals (chromium, lead and cadmium) in toys and other pvc products manufactured for children. in some countries, addition of compounds containing toxic metals to toys are limited or prohibited. methods: to evaluate the safety of some of the plastic toys in the city of isfahan with respect to toxic trac...

Rapid and simple determination of phthalates in plastic toys by a thermal desorption-GC/MS method.

A thermal desorption (TD)-GC/MS method was applied for the determination of phthalates in plastic children's toys. The method, which does not need any cumbersome sample pretreatment such as solvent extraction, filtration and derivatization, has been proved to be useful not only as a sensitive analytical method to evaluate phthalate concentration in the toys, but also as a rapid and practical sc...

Hazardous metals in vintage plastic toys measured by a handheld X-ray fluorescence spectrometer.

Over 100 plastic toys from the 1970s and 1980s, both polyvinyl chloride ("vinyl") and nonvinyl, were analyzed in the study described here using a handheld X-ray fluorescence spectrometer to quantify hazardous metal content. A sampling of recent vinyl toys was also tested. The majority of nonvinyl samples were Fisher Price brand toys. The vinyl toys consisted largely of Barbie dolls and other do...
